Our Lady's Shrine in Knock is the greatest Marian Shrine in the English-speaking world, attracting over 1,5 million visitors every year.

On August 21st 1879 the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist, appeared at the gable at the parish church. The apparition was witnessed by 15 local people, young and old. From this occurrence Knock has grown to the status of an internationally recognised Marian Shrine and has become a place of devotion, pilgrimage and reconciliation.

Pope John Paul II came as a pilgrim to Knock in 1979, commemorating the centenary of the Apparition. In June on 1993 Mother Teresa of Calcutta visited the Shrine.

A 30 minutes drive from the hotel will bring you to the international place of pilgrimage and prayer. The Shrine grounds incorporates five churches, including the Apparition Church, Parish Church/Old Church, Basilica, Blessed Sacrament Chapel and Chapel of Reconciliation.
